With the first leg of the FA Youth Cup Final only two days away, it was more or less an Under-16 side which represented Norwich in this Under-18 Academy League match. Ex-Norwich Manager Bryan Gunn was in attendance, but his son, Angus, only had a place on the bench for the visitors. With Ian Butterworth and Peter Grant (his son was playing for Norwich) also watching, it was quite a managers reunion on this chilly morning at Colney.

Norwich, despite their young years, tried to make a game of it, and got forward at every opportunity. But indecision in the Norwich defence saw Manchester score four goals...

The Canaries progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup with an extra time winner over Birmingham City at Carrow Road.

Neil Adams’ young guns now face a quarter-final date away to Everton, a position they last found themselves in back in 2008 when they went out by the only goal of the game away to Manchester City.

On a very overcast Saturday morning, both teams kindly remembered and paid their respects with a minutes silence to the bereavement during the past week of Alf Thain. Alf had supported the Hammers since the 1930s, especially enjoying his youth football over many years. Flowers were laid in the centre circle.

Despite heavy overnight rain the ground staff made sure the pitch was in immaculate condition for this...

Two headed goals from defender Harry Toffolo was enough to see Norwich overcome Millwall at Carrow Road to earn a home tie against Birmingham City who beat Bristol Rovers by the only goal of their game.

Thursday’s game went ahead at the third attempt after twice being postponed due to the recent blanket of snow that had covered the City.
