City's Academy side suffered a 2-0 reversal at the hands of Reading at Colney on Saturday, the visitors scoring a goal in either half.
Reading were quickly into the their stride with the powerful looking Uche Ikepeazu firing a shot just wide of the target, while Craig Tanner blazing an effort across the City goalmouth, and it was he who sent in a free kick that Jake Cooper headed over the bar as Reading were all but camped in The Canaries half.
With 26 minutes on the clock Reading opened the scoring when a well taken free kick from Tanner left Remi Matthews rooted to the spot as the ball flew into the net.
City rode their luck just before the break when an effort from Tariqu Fosu-Henry rolled along the crossbar.
City looked more purposeful as the second half got underway with Dominic St. Louis sending in a low cross that Rhys Browne looped over the bar.
Captain Kyle McFadden pulled a shot wide of the target as City went all out for the equalising goal, but it was Reading who found the net when on 62 minutes Ikepeazu finished from close range with City players and bench all appealing for what looked like a clear handball.
Matthews made a good save to deny Ikepeazu a second while at the other end Rian Carroll fired just over the bar, and late in the game Dan Lincoln made a comfortable save to deny Harvey Hodd.
