It finished honours even in the first Academy East Anglian derby of the season as the Canaries were held to a 1-1 draw by Ipswich Town at their Playford Road training ground.
Norwich took the game to Town right from the off and Conor O'Donnell had to be alert to save from Josh Murphy at the near post in the opening minutes of the game.
Town went close with a header from Joe Wright but at the other end O'Donnell came to the home side’s rescue yet again, saving with an outstretched leg from Jamar Loza.
The visitors were in the driving seat and Harry Barker forced O'Donnell into yet another save, this time the Town stopper needing two attempts to gather the ball.
On a rare Ipswich attack Remi Matthews had to make a save from a Callum Bennett header, before Ricky Martin was forced into an early change when Jacob Murphy, nursing an injured ankle, was replaced by Joe Peacock.
Late in the half City had a big penalty shout turned away by referee Mr. Foreman when Joshua Murphy appeared to be brought down in the area.
Norwich started the second half with free kick on the edge of the area that Michael Clunan almost curled into the top corner but O'Donnell mad the save of the game, turning the ball round for a corner.
Carel Tiofack almost opened the scoring for Ipswich with near post effort but his shot went over the bar.
On 65 minutes Norwich finally broke the deadlock when the lively Murphy raced clear of the Town defence before slipping the ball past O'Donnell.
Their lead lasted all of 60 seconds however as Town hit back when City failed to clear a loose ball allowing Jack Marriott to finish from close range.
Mariott threatened again shortly after but fortunately for City he failed to get his effort on target.
Both sides looked happy with the point and O'Donnell made sure that both teams took something from the game when he got down well to save from Murphy late on.
